our Daily program
Prior to doors opening families are free to play on the outdoor equipment under parent/carer supervision.
09:00 Preschool Door opens: Children find their name badge and choose a cubby hole to hang their bag and place their Preschool hat, children place morning tea in the esky and drink bottle in the rack, parents/carers place lunch in the Preschool fridge, parents/carers sign their children in and apply sun cream (a stamp on the child's hand is used to signify suncream has been applied). Parents/carers are encouraged to settle the child into an activity of their choice before a quick good-bye then leave. Children are then encouraged to choose from the different teacher prepared activities.
10:30 Pack up time: Children help the teachers to pack away the morning activities.
10:40 Group time: With finger plays, phonics activity, discussion.
11:00 Morning tea: Children eat home prepared morning tea and water in their own drink bottle.
11:15 Outside play: Children can choose from activities created daily by teachers along with sandpit, swings, climbing equipment, cubby house, outdoor reading corner, writing desk, bikes, scooters . . .
12:00 Story & music group time: Children sit quietly inside on a mat and listen to the teacher read a child led book (in preparation for their school years). This is followed by some active dancing, singing, yoga . . .
12:30 Lunch: Children eat their lunch outside at the picnic tables. Children are encouraged not to share their food, and the Preschool has a no nut policy. We proudly support healthy eating and teaching children where their food comes from. Every so often lunch is followed by a quick nibble from the Preschool veggie garden.
12:45 Outside play: Children can choose from activities created daily by teachers along with sandpit, swings, climbing equipment, cubby house, outdoor reading corner, writing desk, bikes, scooters . . .
13:30 Pack up time: Children help teachers put equipment away in the shed.
13:40 Quiet time: Inside children can choose from quiet activities set up by the teachers.
13:50 Singing: Children are led by the teachers with some singing and movement.
14:00 Show & tell: Each child is allocated a show & tell days at the beginning of each term. Children can choose an item from home to bring along (the Preschool provides each child with a news bag upon starting). They speak to the class about the item, children are then encouraged to ask questions to the presenting child.
14:15 Dancing &/or games
14:30 Door Opens for Home Time: Children will be sitting inside on the mat after singing the Preschool good-bye song, their indication that it's time to go home. Parents are required to stay outside until the teachers open the Preschool door. Once door opens, children collect their lunch box and drink from the table, put them in their bag and put their name badge back on the inside cupboard door. Parents/carers need to place the child's Preschool hat back in their busy-box, and check for any important information, and sign their child out of Preschool. Parents/carers and children can stay for a quick play outside under the supervision of the parents/carers as long as the Preschool playground rules are followed.
