About Us
NWCPS is a community Preschool run by a management committee of devoted volunteer parents and our Teaching Director. With a commitment to providing quality education and care, in October 2023, the preschool was rated "Exceeding" the National Quality Standards. The preschool demonstrates a high quality of education and care to the families within our community.
Our report shared:
“Your service is commended on its achievements in Exceeding the National Quality Standard. In particular, careful planning, relationships with children and families, reflective practices and a willingness to collaborate with families to enhance children's learning and wellbeing demonstrate the commitment to quality.”
The preschool is a non-profit organisation, funded by direct government grants, fees collected and fundraising initiatives. These three sources must pay for all our expenses. Parents are therefore requested to support fundraising ventures as this is a vital source of revenue for the preschool.
The Preschool operates from 9:00am until 2:30pm each weekday during school terms (ideal for those with siblings at school!). Each session is staffed by highly qualified Early Childhood Teacher and Educators who develop programs and opportunities for children to learn and grow to their full potential.
Sharing its grounds with Normanhurst West Public School (NWPS), the Preschool is an ideal choice for those looking for a smooth transition to Kindergarten but is also a feeder preschool to many public schools within the local area.
Our Director and Educators liaise with the Kindergarten teachers towards the end of each year to give feedback on the preschool graduates, helping them get to know some of the characteristics and abilities to help ensure they have a smooth start to their first few months at big school.
