This is a community Preschool run by a management committee of parents. The committee is empowered to run the Preschool. The committee determines policy, ensures that sufficient monies are raised, purchases equipments, appoints staff and makes any other decisions necessary for the successful operation of the Preschool.
As the Preschool is a non-profit organisation, funded by direct government grants, fees collected and fundraising initiatives, the Preschool's fundraising activities are a vital source of revenue and we rely on our families to support us with brainstorming, creating and running activities that will raise funds to enable the Preschool to purchase new equipment for the classrooms, upgrade outdoor play equipment and pay for internal and external excursions and performances.

What are the Management Positions?
President: Acts as the face of the Preschool to parents and staff and represents the Preschool within the local community, encouraging and managing community spirit within the Preschool. Responsibilities of this role include; preparing annual budgets with the executive committee, chairing committee meetings, working closely with the Preschool's Director to ensure policies are adhered to and the preschool is managed efficiently and effectively. Working closely with other committee members to distribute workload fairly and make balanced decisions with regards to the Preschool's finances, maintenance requirements and daily operations. This role is required to submit one report per term to the secretary for each general meeting where their attendance is also required.
Vice President: To support the President in their role, and chair meetings in their absence. Act as the project co-coordinator for major projects, including funding agreements and / or undertake key relationship roles with third parties. Marketing is also a key responsibility for this role which includes website updates and maintenance (with 3rd party when required), contacting local newspaper to notify of Preschool achievements, assist Director with requirements for newsletters / Facebook page / adverts. . . This role is required to submit one report per term to the secretary for each general meeting where attendance is also required.
Treasurer: Overseeing the financial management of the Preschool, ensuring that true and proper financial records are kept and the management committee is always kept informed with a reconciliation at each meeting. Other key responsibilities include creating and managing the Preschool budget, managing relationship with the Preschool's nominated bookkeeper and bank, approving payments . . . . This role is required to submit one report per term to the secretary for each general meeting where attendance is also required.
Secretary: Keep records of all business to do with the committee. Key Responsibilities include; take minutes for all committee meetings, type and distribute to all members. Work closely with the Director and all members of the committee and assists in making important decisions on the running of the preschool.
Fundraising Co-Ordinator: Co-ordinates the Fundraising activities for the Preschool, with the assistance of a voluntary fundraising sub-committee. This is a fun role with the freedom to choose activities throughout the year to make the Preschool money. These could be movie nights, market days, sausage sizzle, tea towels etc. to achieve the fundraising budget for each year, as set by the executive committee. This role is required to submit a once a term report to the secretary for each general meeting where attendance is also required.
Social Co-Ordinator: Interact with the Director and committee members to arrange social activities for the families attending the Preschool to promote good community spirit, and help build friendships for both parents / carers and children. Key Responsibilities include: Choosing dates / times and venues for various social events throughout the year, to coincide with special events such as Mothers Day, and termly catch ups outside of school hours for both children and parents.
